Cold laser therapy

Practitioner holds cold laser on affected body part for therapy

Cold laser therapy is low-intensity laser therapy that stimulates healing. The name “cold” laser comes from the fact that this therapeutic technique uses low levels of light that are not enough to heat your body’s tissue.

During this treatment, different wavelengths and outputs of low-level light are applied directly to the targeted area, allowing the injured tissue to absorb the light. This absorption stimulates a reaction that promotes regeneration. This technique is a quick, painless and noninvasive way to treat pain and inflammation.

Cold laser therapy can be used to treat a number of issues, including pain and inflammation from minor injuries and sprains (e.g. muscle strains, tendonitis, tennis elbow, neck pain, ligament sprains, lower back pain and knee pain). This technique is also used to help reduce swelling and promote the healing of joints and soft tissue.
